As students and faculty of Astral Academy, everyone is working toward honing their powers and further awakening their truest potential; strengthening their bond with the zodiac. As members of the forum, the Staff is obligated to offer these opportunities to our community. It's not a matter of requesting permission, but more of a matter of putting some effort into your character and showing us that you really want for him/her to improve. We give you this opportunity once you've reached enough points and can afford a new Ability. Once that Ability is approved, you train for it.
Below I've listed the number of words required in a "Training Thread" to be able to use said abilities.
Basic-level Abilities cost 300 words.
Advanced-level Abilities cost 600 words.
Master-level Abilities cost 1000 words.
Ultimate-level Abilities cost 1500 words.
Cosmic-level Abilities cost 3000 words.
Once you've reached the require word amount in that thread (you need to be role-playing, mind you) a member of the Staff will review it and make sure you've done an adequate job as well as reach the required amount of words. If there's another player character teaching you the Ability it reduces the total amount of words required by 25%.
NOTE: Students cannot learn techniques beyond Master-level. And only then, a Student can't learn Master-level abilities until he's a 4th Year or given special permission. This could very well change in the future.
